Heading to Rhinebeck this weekend for the Sheep and Wool Festival? Cooperative Press will be vending in building C, #37. Next weekend, find us at Stitches East in the Bijou Basin Ranch booth, number 1007-1009 — Alasdair Post-Quinn will be signing copies of Extreme Double Knitting (overnighted fresh from the printer!) and Shannon will be teaching.

At Rhinebeck, meet our authors Anna Dalvi, Kate Atherley, Heather Ordover, Andi Smith, Alasdair Post-Quinn, Stephannie Tallent and Shannon Okey! There will be having signings in the booth all weekend long, as well as copies of Miriam Felton’s book Twist & Knit. We’ll also be teaming up with Bijou Basin Ranch for another iPad giveaway at both shows.

Accordingly, print copies of books ordered over the next week will not ship until the week of the 24th. Thank you for your patience and for your support of small companies like Cooperative Press (trust us, we wish we had a whole shipping department, but it’s just Shannon and a Dymo postage printer!). All copies of Extreme Double Knitting should be here the day we get back, so if you preordered, you’ll have your hard copy very soon!

Less than a week ’til we head to Portland for Sock Summit! You’ll find us in booth #206, and oh boy do we have some cool stuff for you! First of all, there’s the limited edition project bags. Only 100 were made, and they are spectacular. We licensed art from one of my favorite artists, Camilla d’Errico, and we’ve been filling the bags with the greatest possible swag, both from CP and from our friends. One of the items in there, a custom “Knitgrrl”-scented lotion bar by our local soap & lotion queen Melissa at Terra Verde Handmade, is so yummy! There’s also Heel foot cream, yarn, stitch markers, coupons, buttons, tools, you name it! We’ve been posting photos as we go along here.

If you’re not going to Summit but want a bag, make friends with someone in this thread on the CP Ravelry group, or try posting to the Facebook event page.

Next up — booth display fun! Who needs ordinary sock blockers to display items from our upcoming books? NOT US. So we had Lynne from Seven Yaks, another local artist, make sock blockers with our logo on them. If you need ANY blockers, Lynne’s your go-to person. Check out her mitten blockers, for example.

Cooperative Press will be one of the sponsors of the Ravelry party coming up at the Dutchess County Sheep & Wool Festival 16-17 October (aka Rhinebeck, as that’s the city where it’s held, in New York state). If you are very quick, you might be able to get your hands on one of these special buttons from Shannon, not to mention a very awesome door prize from Cooperative Press at the Ravelry party!

anezka media’s own Shannon Okey will embark on an east coast North American book tour this fall with Kim Werker of Crochet Me to support their respective tween craft books Knitgrrl, Knitgrrl 2 and Get Hooked. Knitgrrl’s event page will have details as they are released.
